While I was staying in Japan between 2007 and 2008, I thought that I want to start the pixel poster work again. I just started work without any consideration of concept, size and medium. However, as time goes by, my folder has many different named files with various building and people images, and there were a few plan sheets appeared on my table while I was working on those images.

As you can see, my folder had bunch of files arranged by number orders, but there was a small problem. Because I decided the concept and size during the process, my individual image size did not fit. The problem was not the poster size, but the actual character¡¯s size. In the end, I resize every single character again before composing those images.

From the two pictures above, the left is before the concept, and the right is after the concept. The two images have different details and mood. I have 10 more files which have the same process like this. Remaking takes shorter than creating something from nothing, but it still takes long. You can see the final works below.

Well, you might notice that each individual pixel image is quite big. I wanted to print out real size. Usually people magnify it to emphasize the characteristic of pixel. However, I wanted something packed and crowded. Well, I like the fact that it looks like illustration even though it is from pixel work, but on the other hand, I also realised that the characteristic of pixel is quite important. Now I am preparing to break the poster into pieces and magnify each one for new output.

After I finished individual image work, I started drawing the whole world. Well, composing looked easy when I was working on individual picture. Yet, it was only the tip of an iceberg! The REAL work started from composing. In fact, the time I spent on composing would be the same with the time I spend on drawing images. It was like whenever I put an object in space A, space B, C, D, E lose its balance, so if I shift it to space B, then space A might be ok but C or D are not ok.

You can see the final work below. At that moment, I was just looking forward to finishing it, but now I want to change a few parts. I guess it would be impossible to see the final work if I was accurate in every single bit, but I want to be a perfect. I wonder when I can see myself becoming a perfectionist. Maybe in a million years?
